My goal is to introduce children and adults to the joy of playing piano.
Mine is a lifetime effort to work with those interested in learning how to play the piano. Lessons are fun and engaging.
When learning to play piano it’s imperative to understand what the music is all about. Contrary to common belief, there is more to learning music than playing a bunch of notes.
Every song and piece is composed of many elements. For example, dynamics, phrasing of lines, and how the body, arms and fingers are used comes into play.
The knowledge of theoretical concepts must be taught no matter what genre, how easy or how difficult the music is. It’s fun to know the history of the composers as well. They all led interesting lives. I always incorporate these principles from the beginning in a way that the lesson is pleasurable and rewarding.
Books are customized to the student’s level and the series complements the goal.
